About Me

I’m a pediatric speech-language pathologist and the owner of Speech Therapy Wheelhouse, a child-centered speech therapy practice serving families in Northern New Jersey. I help children build confident, functional communication skills through play- and, evidence-based speech therapy that feels natural and fun.

How I Found My Wheelhouse

When I began my training, I thought I would work with adults. That changed the moment I stepped into my first pediatric placement. Watching a child light up when they were finally understood—and seeing how play could transform therapy—made it clear that this is where I’m meant to be.

I quickly became fascinated by how children learn language, how their brains process speech, and how powerful it is when therapy aligns with their interests, personalities, and everyday routines. That’s what led me to build a practice focused on quality over quantity, where each child is truly known.

Why I Started Speech Therapy Wheelhouse

Before starting my own practice, I worked in schools and private clinics. I saw firsthand how large caseloads, rushed sessions, and limited time for parent collaboration could make it difficult for children to receive the depth of support they truly needed.

I created Speech Therapy Wheelhouse to be different.

  • Fewer clients, so each child gets more attention.

  • Longer, more intentional sessions, so we’re not rushing through goals.

  • Space to listen to parents, collaborate, and adjust therapy as your child grows.

My goal is to build a place where therapy feels thoughtful, individualized, and sustainable for families, not overwhelming.

What Matters Most to Me

At the heart of my work is this: I want your child to feel confident being themselves when they communicate.

Yes, we work on articulation, language, and motor planning. But we’re also building self-esteem, resilience, and connection. I want your child to feel proud of their voice across settings, whether it’s in your home, in the classroom, or out in the world.

If you’re looking for thoughtful, individualized speech therapy that honors your child’s strengths while supporting their challenges, I’d be honored to be part of your team.

My Areas of Specialization

Rather than being a generalist who “does a little bit of everything,” I chose to go deeper in the areas I care about most and where many families struggle to find specialized support. My clinical focus includes:

  • Gestalt language processing and natural language acquisition

  • Childhood apraxia of speech (CAS)

  • Speech sound disorders (articulation and phonological delays)

  • Developmental speech and language delays in early childhood

I’ve completed extensive continuing education in these areas so I can offer targeted, up-to-date, and evidence-based intervention—not just generic speech therapy. This allows me to design sessions that are better aligned with your child’s communication profile and your family’s priorities.

What Sessions Are Like

Sessions at Speech Therapy Wheelhouse are play-based, engaging, and tailored to your child’s interests. We might be on the floor with cars, acting out stories with figures, building with blocks, or using favorite characters to practice sounds and language structures. Underneath the play, every activity is purposeful and tied to specific goals.

You can expect:

  • A warm, supportive environment where your child feels safe to try, make mistakes, and grow.

  • Clear explanations of what we’re working on and why.

  • Practical strategies and carryover ideas you can use at home, in the car, and in daily routines.

I believe parents are essential partners in the therapy process, so I build in time to answer questions, share progress, collaborate with others who also help your child, and problem-solve together.
